Nora has been choreographing and performing within experimental dance and video since high school. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Nora moved to the Boston area when she was 5, started choreographing a lot while at Brookline High continuing to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with a degree in Dance and InterArts and Technology. While in Madison, she started her first dance company, Noranewdance in 1999 with scholarship funding and from the School of Education. After several summers studying at the American Dance Festival and Bates Dance Festival, Nora moved to Brooklyn, NY in 2001. For 5 years, In NYC, Nora showed her work around downtown including at MR at Judson Church, Dixon Place, Brooklyn Museum, DanceNoW, AUNTS, among other. She studied with Miguel Gutierrez, John Jasper’s and Juliette Mapp.
In 2005, Nora moved to Mexico City for love and she found herself in ballet class every day with Guillermo Maldonado and choreographing and performing at el Centro de Tallers in Coyoacan.
